Frequently Asked Questions

For all your questions

Can I have plastic surgery?

You may be a good candidate for cosmetic surgery if you are healthy, have reasonable expectations, and know the risks of the procedure you are considering.

You may not be a good candidate for cosmetic surgery if you have serious health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, a bleeding disorder, heart disease or depression.

What happens during my consultation?

Before you decide to do a facelift, you will be given a free consultation by our surgeon. During the consultation you will discuss your wishes regarding the facelift. Tell your surgeon what is bothering you, what you want to change and why. We will also check your current health, your medical history, which supplements you are taking and if you smoke. The surgeon will consider all the details and examine your face to offer you various options. You may not need a face-lift, but you may need a less intensive procedure that can achieve the same goal. Your surgeon may also suggest additional minor changes, such as a chin implant or an eyebrow lift. In this case, he or she will use an I-pad that will show your face and allow you to see the result after the procedure. Finally, during your first consultation, your surgeon will inform you of the risks and costs of each surgery.

Does my insurance cover plastic surgery?

Health insurance companies do not cover cosmetic surgery that are a matter of choice and not for medical reasons. So you will need to cover the full costs that are listed on our website. You can also ask your surgeon for a full list of all costs, including anesthesia, operating room and recovery, aftercare and any required prescriptions.

Ask your health insurance company for its policy whether cosmetic surgery will affect your coverage. Some insurance companies increase premiums after aesthetic surgery. You may also consider getting additional insurance that covers the costs of any hypothetical complications of aesthetic surgery, in case your original plan does not cover it.

How can I prepare for cosmetic surgery?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the day of surgery. Wear a blouse or shirt with a buttons so that you don’t have to pull it over your face. Make sure there is someone who can take you home and stay with you for the first 48 hours. If possible, consider hiring a nurse to take care of you for the first 24 hours after you return home.

What contraindications are there for cosmetic surgery?

It is strongly recommended not to eat food that influences blood pressure 2 weeks before the surgery:

  • stop smoking
  • do not drink alcohol
  • do not take vitamin E
  • do not take Omega 3 (fish oil)
  • do not take aspirins (or any other medication that may dilute your blood)

This is important for the healing process and ensures a good recovery.

How can I set up a good recovery room at home?

Make sure you have bags of ice to put on swollen skin. We recommend that you stock gauze, clean towels and flannels, ointments or creams recommended by your doctor. It is also advisable to wear loose, comfortable shirts that you can button. We also recommend that you have a thermometer available.

Please note: if you are working full time, consider making sufficient time available. With the average surgery, most people can get back to work within 2-3 weeks.

How do I take good care of my scars?

Our research team continuously analyzes products to find the highest quality. Together with our doctors and healthy-aging professionals, we select only top-range products from specific brands to provide you with products of the highest quality and the treatments you need and deserve.

That’s why we offer you an aftercare package, provided by one of our most reliable partners, that helps our customers with products based on organic ingredients, which will stimulate your healing process, leading to invisible scars.

Our care pack contains products made from Spirulin that moisturize the skin and protect it from wind, cold and sun rays and are indicated for all skin types. The cream is applied after cleansing the skin, in successive thin layers, 2-3 times a day. In addition, the pack contains nutritional supplements such as natural detoxifiers, omega 3 and 6 (oil capsules) and plant extracts of rosemary, blackcurrants, raspberry. The combination of these supplements may vary depending on your doctor’s recommendations.

What happens after the surgery?

Bruising and swelling may persist for about 2-3 weeks after the surgery. Some people heal faster, while others heal more slowly. Although you may not want to appear in public during this period, you should in principle feel well in the first few days after the surgery. Your surgeon will remove the bandage after a few days. Make sure you keep a record of all follow-up appointments so that your surgeon can follow your healing process. Expect therefore your doctor to see you several times during the period from the 2nd to the 3rd week to check your bruises and swelling and to remove sutures.

How long will the results last?

The effects of your new look depend on each cosmetic procedure. In general, the result is 5-10 years. You will continue to age after a cosmetic procedure of course, but you will probably still look 5-10 years younger than if you had not had a face-lift. It is important to know that you play an important role in the longevity of the results. The way you maintain the results of the face-lift will always affect your skin. That’s why we recommend using a variety of skin enhancers and fillers to maintain texture, elasticity and hydration.

What complications can occur after a cosmetic surgery?

As with any surgery, there is a risk of complications, including infection. Contact your doctor immediately if:

  • You have a fever of 39 degrees or higher.
  • You have abnormal discharge, including pus, from a surgical wound.
  • You feel extreme pain, sensitivity, swelling or redness in the treated area.
  • The stitches come out before the planned removal.
